I rock the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 with no regrets. It's a man's phone from the future. One a robot cat like Doraemon would use. Unfortunately it's so 2017. And more unfortunately the Mi Max 3 is beyond my budget for the slight upgrade it is. However, I'd shell out a pretty penny if this franchise could reach it's painfully obvious potential. I'm talking $400 US! Mad money but make it and I will buy!
Here are the spectacular yet realistic specs I'd like to see in the Mi Max 4.
Size: 180 x 90 x 8 mm Basically the same handful as the other three but now it packs a bezel-less 7in 16:10 (2560 X 1600) IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass. 16:10 is key, none of this 18:9 rubbish! It's 2:1 anyways muppets.
Chipset: This is the key point. Big phone needs big power. I suggest the old (2018) flagship Snapdragon 845 and its Adreno 630 GPU with 6GB/8GB of RAM. Android 8 or 9 naturally - it is 2019 after all!
Extra power under the hood & improved use of the display space are the two crucial updates. This is now a premium gaming main phone, not a novelty phablet toy.
Camera: Don't care too much though it should be slightly better than Mi Max 3 . Definitely supporting image stabilisation and a lower f-stop (say 1.8) to get over its lowlight woes.
Sound: Same stereo speakers, one at each end. Better quality also with an in-built app that automatically adjusts/normalises volume output of various disparate tracks (ala Precise Volume).
Features: Same fingerprint sensor but an inch lower. The three buttons should be larger and indented so easier to find with your fumbling fingers. Usual Type-C USB fast charging . Also the usual 5300 MaH battery will be fantastic as always.
